Tom Dix (served as Dicks) was the son of the Richard and Harriet Partridge Dix of Park Street, Hawkesbury Upton, Glos

Tom had been born in Bristol and had been a regular soldier before the war having enlisted in 1903. Recalled from the reserve at the outbreak of war, Tom Served with the 2nd Battalion, Welsh Regiment. Tom Dix was posted as missing in November 1914 following the First battle of Ypres. His death in action was not confirmed until the spring of 1916

Tom B Dix is remembered on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Hawkesbury
