William served with the 2nd Reserve Battalion, Royal Engineers and died on 15/07/1918 (at Chatham Military Hospital of Pulmonary Tuberculosis). Medals: possibly only the Memorial Death Plaque of WW1 as he does not appear to have served overseas.

A pension of 5 shillings a week was paid to his mother Margaret, and her address in 1918 was 14 Bath Street, Staple Hill, Bristol.
