His birth registration was in the name Wilfred Cyril Bridgman (no e), and the records seem to switch between the two spellings of the surname. On the 1901 and 1911 Census, he is recorded as Cyril, but the military records state Wilfred Cyril.

On the 1911 Census, Cyril was living with his parents and 4 brothers and 1 sister (three more surviving children were not living with them).

Cyril served with the 7th Bedfordshire Regiment and was killed in action on 08/07/1916.
