William Bleaken was born in 1895 and worked as a stone mason.

He was called up on June 1917 and served at home with 648th Agricultural Company of the Labour Corps. He died in hospital in Bristol in August 1918 after a short illness.

William was married to Mary Bleaken of High Street, Hawkesbury Upton, Glos.

William Bleaken is remembered on the Chipping Sodbury and District Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Hawkesbury.
