William was born in Tresham in 1888. He enlisted in 1914 and served with the 3rd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment. In January 1915, while stationed in London, William died of measles and bronchial pneumonia.
William Clark is remembered on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, now at Yate and District Heritage Centre under Hawkesbury.
