Recorded on both Staple Hill Page Park and Christchurch Downend Memorials incorrectly as Foxhole.
The address recorded on the Commonwealth War Graves Commission is 1 Edgeware Road, Staple Hill, but on the WW1 Naval casualty list it is 6 South View, Lower Station Road, Staple Hill (and also on the 1911 Census). Williams parents probably moved shortly after the end of the war.
On the night of 20/21 April HMS Broke together with HMS Swift engaged German ships off Dover, resulting in the sinking of two German ships and damage to another, but HMS Broke was badly damaged and 21 of her crew were killed.
