Further information:

Further information: William was born at Hanham the son of a quarry master and the eldest of four brothers.
It is possible that William was serving with the North Somerset Yeomanry, and if that was the case, he would have been stationed on the Home Front at the time of his death but the nature of his war service is not known. William died just three months into the war and his death was registered in Keynsham. In 1915, a stained-glass window was dedicated to his memory at Hanham Christchurch, showing St George in full battle armour. The service of dedication was carried out by the Bristol Forces chaplain, Canon Alford.

Note - He is not on the War Graves Commission Website.
