William Victor Minett was born in to Francis and Louisa in Acton Turville where his father was a farmer in 1897. He had a sister called Elsie and in 1911 he was a pupil at The College in Elton Road, Clevedon

He enlisted in Cinderford in Gloucestershire with the 15th Battalion, Hampshire Regiment.
He was Killed in Action on the 20th September 1917, aged 20 and is commemorated at Tyne Cot Memorial (Panel 88 to 90 and 162)

William Victor Minett is remembered on the Chipping Sodbury and District War Memorial Cottage Hospital board, which is now at Yate and District Heritage Centre, under Yate
