Further information:

Abraham's battalion was mobilised to France in August of 1914 and fought in various actions on the Western Front. The 1st Glosters were not involved in any major offensives between the Battle of Lys in April and the Second Battles of Arras in September so it is likely, since the cemetery where he is buried was located 800 metres from the frontline trenches, that Abraham was killed during routine trench warfare.
