Further information:

Henry was born in Kingswood the son of a bootmaker and a middle child of nine with five brothers and three sisters. He subsequently emigrated to Canada, but the date of his emigration is unknown.

Henry's unit was based in Toronto Canada and began recruiting in late 1915. The battalion sailed to England in August of 1916 as part of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. Henry was killed a few days before the Battle of Vimy Ridge (9 Apr 1917 – 12 Apr 1917) probably during a minor engagement in support of the impending action. The cemetery where he is buried was located near the Canadian Corps headquarters.
