Harold was the son of a road labourer and he had a younger brother. He died at The Ambassador Cinema, Kingswood, during the Bristol Blitz along with 2 other teenagers, in the ARP shelter that was located there. The cinema was closed as a result of bomb damage but re-opened a year later at the end of 1941.
