The surname is often spelt Lowe (pronounced Love). On the grave in St. Peters church graveyard there was a wooden cross that rotted. It is assumed that the commonwealth graves commission organised the renovation

A couple knew of James Love (Lowe) through their grandfather. Their grandfather served in the same battalion and in recognition of his friendship and respect for James Lowe they leave flowers on the grave
