Further information:
Ralph served with the 1st Battalion, Queen's Own (Royal West Kent Regiment), his battalion was deployed from Ireland to France at the outbreak of WW1 in August 1914. They were briefly deployed to Italy between November 1917 and April 1918, before returning to the Western Front for the remainder of the conflict. Ralph died in Boulogne from wounds probably sustained during the 3-day Battle of Beaurivoir in France. It was the site of several Military Hospitals and it is likely that Ralph is buried in one of the three nearby Military Cemeteries, although no grave has been listed for him by CWGC.
