South Gloucestershire Council is sending congratulations to students, families and schools across the area on GCSE results day.
Pupils across South Gloucestershire have received their GCSE results today and will be celebrating with families and thinking about the next chapter of their lives.
The council is sending their warmest congratulations to pupils for their commitment and hard work, their supporting families and carers, and to the school staff who have done so much to help prepare students for the exams.
Councillor Ian Boulton, South Gloucestershire Council Co-Leader and cabinet member with responsibility for schools, said: “Congratulations to all those who have received their GCSE results today. Well done for your hard work and thanks also for the dedication of our teachers and school staff across South Gloucestershire. Thank you also to families, carers and friends for your support.
“These results should open the next door to your future. I hope you feel proud of the work you put in to get where you are now, whatever your results.
“As your journey continues into sixth form, college, an apprenticeship or vocational qualification, please know that support is still there. If you’re not sure what to do next, I encourage you to talk to your school who are available to support you and explore all of the available options. If you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, use that support to help you to work out what is right for your next step.”
“From all of us at South Gloucestershire Council, we hope that you enjoy the rest of your summer break, and we send you our very best wishes for the future.”
For those who didn’t get the results they were hoping for, please don’t panic. Help and support and an opportunity to talk through your options is available through your school.
