Transition ride

During the summer, 65 pupils from seven South Gloucestershire primary and junior schools including Bailey’s Court, Bowsland Green, Meadowbrook, Raysfield, St Michael’s, Stoke Lodge and The Ridge took part in transition rides to their new secondary school.

The transition rides encourage students to think about how they can travel to their new school as well as showing them some of the benefits of cycling. Our Bikeability accredited instructors try out at least two different routes to and from school with the students to help boost their skills and prepare them for when the time comes to make that important journey to their new secondary school.

Transition rides have been funded by the Local Sustainable Transport Fund Active Travel to School project.
