South Gloucestershire fostering information evening

Are you interested in fostering, but aren’t sure what’s involved?

Then come along to our next fostering information evening in Yate on Thursday 5 October to chat with our fostering team and find out lots of helpful information about this rewarding role.

Our fostering information evenings are very informal, offering an easy way to find out everything you need to know about fostering and the types of children we look after. You’ll be able to talk directly with our friendly and knowledgeable foster carers and social workers, who will help you consider how fostering would fit into your own family and lifestyle. You can ask any questions you may have and we’ll give you all the information you need to decide if fostering is right for you.

Cllr Jon Hunt, Cabinet Member responsible for Children and Young People said: “We need more foster carers in South Gloucestershire to ensure that each child and young person can be placed within their community close to their school and family. We want to ensure that every child has the opportunity to be looked after by local foster carers who can support a child or young person at such a critical time in their lives.

“Being a foster carer can be a challenge but it is also immensely rewarding. You won’t be on your own, we are with you every step of the way to help with support, guidance and training and we will also support you financially with weekly payments to provide the care, support and attention that a child needs.”

Anyone who is interested in fostering can come along to our Fostering Information Evening at the Council Offices at Badminton Road, Yate, on Thursday 5 October from 7pm to 9pm.

If you decide that fostering is something you are interested in taking further, we can arrange the next step with you, or alternatively we can give you all the information and time you need to consider fostering further.
