tables

Avoid using tables as they are not very accessible. They can be used to present statistical data.

telephone numbers

Use ‘phone’ rather than ‘telephone’. Make sure the number is linked. For example, in the link box add Tel:01454868000 with no spaces.

times

Times should be written in 12-hour clock format such as 10am and 1pm. To avoid confusion, use midday not 12pm, midnight not 12am. Use a full stop rather than a colon. For example, 5.30pm not 5:30pm. This is different to GOV.UK.
Avoid hyphens, for example a 30 minute meeting not a 30-minute meeting, the library is open 9am to 5pm.

titles

Page titles should be short, clear and descriptive. Try to use a verb where possible.  Only capitalise the first word and any proper nouns.

to

Use the word ‘to’ rather than a hyphen (–). For example, ‘Monday to Friday’, not ‘Monday – Friday’.

town council

Both words should be lower case unless using the full name of the council. If writing town and parish council, town should go first.
