Early indications for A level results suggest that is has been a successful year for schools in South Gloucestershire.

A number of schools are showing improved results. All schools have highlighted some special achievements and success for individual students.

Winterbourne International Academy and The Castle Academy have recorded particularly high results and Brimsham Green Secondary, Patchway Community College, Yate International Academy, Cabot Learning Federation Post-16, Bristol Technology and Engineering Academy, Abbeywood Community School and Chipping Sodbury School are also celebrating significantly improved results.

Cllr Toby Savage, Cabinet Member for Schools, Skills and Employment said: “Congratulations to everyone receiving their A level results today. The results are only provisional at this stage but judging by the feedback received from schools and academies so far, it would suggest that students in South Gloucestershire continue to do well at this level.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone well as they make those all-important choices for the future. Whether they’re heading off to university, starting a vocational qualification or taking up a new job or apprenticeship, we need resilient young people with a range of talents and a positive attitude to join the variety of employment sectors we have across South Gloucestershire.”
