Phase 3 programme: Improving broadband speeds
Together with our partner, BT Openreach, we’ve so far provided superfast broadband access to more than 98% of households and businesses. But there’s further to go.
We have therefore secured funding for a third phase of work which will bring ultrafast and Next Generation Access broadband to even more homes and businesses in South Gloucestershire. Following is our blog in which we’ll keep you updated on the progress of the programme.
The government has launched a new nationwide Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme, which aims to expand the full fibre, gigabit-capable network to small and medium-sized enterprises. Work is progressing well and over the last month we’ve delivered fibre in Bradley Stoke, Chipping Sodbury, Coalpit Heath, Codrington, Dodington, Dyrham, Elberton, Hallen, Hinton, Olveston, Siston Hill, parts of Kingswood, Tytherington and Westerleigh.
Residents can now place orders with their chosen Internet Service Provider (ISP) to see what broadband speeds and packages are available to them.
The Better Broadband Scheme (BBS) has been extended and will continue to run during 2018.
