It’s important that we have people in our lives who we can turn to when we’re finding things difficult. Have a think about who these people might be – they could be family members, friends, teachers, neighbours, or even a loved pet! Don’t worry if you can’t think of many people – the number is less important than the quality of the connections.

Trust is essential for positive relationships and friendships. It has to be built over time; in order to see if someone is trustworthy, you have to take a risk and share something, even if it is a small thing. Sometimes it won’t work out, but it’s worth trying.

Often we can find it hard to ask for help; we might worry about what someone will think or that we will be a burden on them. But give it a go; you might be surprised by how supportive people can be and by how many people share the same concerns as you.
